The Queens Head Inn staff were pleasant and helpful. We were shown to small, but comfortable rooms which catered for all our needs. The building was lovely with history to it which I love.
Dislikes:
The only thing we disliked about the Queens Head Inn was that the heating system in one of our rooms was broken. I wanted to bring it up with staff, but my son and his partner decided just to leave it

Like all hotels in the UK - more expensive than it should be. No wonder foreigners find it difficult to stay here! But given that Cumbia is in the UK, the Queen's Head is reasonably priced.

"Suitable for our purpose by splitting up a seven hundred mile drive."
The stay was uneventful. It was a very old counry pub with accomodation. The owner had only been in situ for two weeks and was very alert to any improvements required. The quantity of food on my plate for the evening meal was a childs portion. It was a game stew,
when brought to the table the waiter descibed it as beef stew. It did not seem very gamy to me. The breakfast was exceptional four marks for that. Read less

The atmosphere.
Dislikes:
Evening meal and some work required in the room, furnishings, carpet in the washroom. I suspect this will be put right in the coming winter with the new owners.

Guest Reviews

Overall rating: 4.5 out of 5
Each year I drive from London to Oban and back a few times to visit family. I usually stay in the Premier Inn at Lancaster on my way up and down, but fancied staying in an old pub this time (the restaurant at the Lancaster Premier Inn is poorly managed). I came across the Queen's Head on a quick Google and it had good reviews. I was made to feel very welcome when I arrived and when I dined with them. They have a fantastic local menu and it's very reasonably priced. I'll definitely stay again.
